We’re at the halfway point of the NFL season and I’m sure a lot of you are in the thick of a heated playoff battle in your fantasy league. We have another game on Sunday morning in London between Cincinnati and Washington so make sure you set your lineups accordingly. Here are a couple guys we like this week, and of course some guys we don’t. Enjoy!
BYE WEEK: SF, MIA, NYG LAR, BAL, PIT
QUARTER BACKS
Carson Palmer, ARZ vs CAR
Palmer has been a bit of a disappointment this season. However this week he faces a Carolina defense who is a mere shadow of their stout defense from last season. Carolina has struggled to stop teams through the air. On top of that, Arizona has been playing much better of later. This looks like a great game for Palmer to breakout.
Russell Wilson, SEA vs NO

Much like Palmer, Wilson has failed to live up to his fantasy hype this season. He is currently the 24th ranked QB and has only 1 more fantasy point that Brock Osweiler (yikes). But also like Palmer, Wilson has a very favorable matchup against New Orleans. The Saints give up an average of 19 fantasy points to opposing QBs. Look for Wilson to have a good game this week and make fantasy owners happy.
Jamies Winston, TB vs OAK
Oakland has struggled this season to stop opposing QBs. They give up an average of 19 fantasy points per games to opposing QBs. Winston is coming off of a very strong performance against San Francisco where he threw for 269 yards and 3 TDs. We expect Winston to continue off of his strong game and follow up with another.
SLEEPER: Ryan Fitzpatrick, NYJ vs CLE

Ryan Fitzpatrick’s season as a back up QB did not last long. To be exact it only lasted about a half of a game. Thanks to Geno’s unfortunate torn ACL, Fitzpatrick once again finds himself in the driver’s seat of the Jets offense. Cleveland is terrible, we all know that. This looks like a great game for Fitzpatrick to get things going and attempt to salvage an otherwise dreadful season for the Jets.
BUST: Phillip Rivers, SD vs DEN
Denver’s defense has been one of if not the best defense in the league, especially against opposing QBs. On the season opposing QBs are scoring ann average of only 11 fantasy points a game, which is third least in the league. Last time Rivers played Denver he struggled. He only manage 178 yards and a TD through the air. We expect Rivers to struggle once again this week.
RUNNING BACKS
Spencer Ware, KC vs IND

Many expected Ware’s usage to decrease with the return of Jamaal Charles. Luckily for Ware owners, that has not been the case. In the past two games since his bye week, Ware has totaled 22 and 19 fantasy points. Ware is clearly still the workhorse in Kansas City’s backfield and he has a juicy matchup this week against the Colts who give up an average of 24 fantasy points per game to opposing RBs.
Matt Forte, NYJ vs CLE
Forte has been quiet since his 3 TD performance way back in week 2 against Buffalo. Last week, however, the Jets went back to the well and fed him the ball. Forte ran the ball 30 times for 100 yards and a TD. He also added 54 yards receiving and a receiving TD as well. This week he faces the lowly Browns and Forte owners should expect the veteran RB to run the ball a lot once again.
Latavius Murray, OAK vs TB

Murray ran the ball very well in his first game back from injury. He immediately became Oakland’s work horse once again. He rushed the ball 18 times for 59 yards and 2 TDs. This week he faces a porous Tampa Bay defense who has struggled to stop the run all season. Tampa Bay gives up an average of 22 fantasy points to opposing RBs. Look for Murray to have another strong game.
SLEEPER: Christine Michael, SEA vs NO
Michael has done well as Seattle’s starting RB with Rawls being injured. Last week he struggled against a very good Arizona defense. However, this week he faces the polar opposite. No defense has given up more fantasy points to opposing RBs than New Orleans. Michael will continue to see the bulk of the carries and should have a good game this week.
BUST: Jonathan Stewart, CAR vs ARZ
J Stew returned from injury in week 6 and had a very productive game with 85 rushing yards and 2 TDs. However, that was against the horrific New Orleans run defense. This week he faces an Arizona defense who only gives up an average of 12 fantasy points to opposing RBs. It could be a tough week for the Carolina running game.
WIDE RECEIVERS
T.Y. Hilton, IND vs KC
T.Y. has been one of the hottest receivers in football of late. He has 4 TDs in his last 5 games with over 100 yards in three of those 5. On top of that, Luck loves throwing the ball his way. He is the most targeted WR in the league. Kansas City has been bad this season. In fact, no teams gives up more fantasy points to opposing WRs than the Chiefs. Expect another big week from Hilton.
DeAndre Hopkins, HOU vs DET

“Hello, officer? I’d like to report a missing person. His name is DeAndre Hopkins.” -Hopkins owners. Hopkins has been almost nonexistent lately and it is understandable if owners have become frustrated. However, this could be a good week for him to get going against a Detroit defense who allows an average of 25 fantasy points to opposing WRs. While he may not be getting much yardage, Hopkins is still one of the most targeted WR in the league and where there’s volume, there’s potential.
Brandon Marshall, NYJ vs CLE
Fitzpatrick is back under center for the Jets and Marshall has been his favorite target all season. In order for the Jets to be successful, they need to be able to sustain offensive drives and put points on the board. The best way for the Jets to do that is to get the ball to Marshall. He has a very god matchup against the pathetic Browns and should have a good week.
SLEEPER: Cordarrelle Patterson, MIN vs CHI

Patterson has made an emergence over Minnesota’s last two games with a TD in each of them. Last week he caught all 7 of his passes for 67 yards and a TD. Week 5 he had 4 catches for 39 yards and a TD (Minnesota had a bye week 6). The talent has always been there for the former first round pick out of Clemson and maybe this is a sign for good things to come.
BUST: Brandin Cooks, NO vs SEA
Cooks has been very boom or bust this season. He is the 10th ranked fantasy WR, however he only has 2 games with double digit fantasy points. This week he faces a very strong Seattle secondary. It could be a tough week for New Orleans’ offense.
TIGHT ENDS
Jack Doyle, IND vs KC
With Dwayne Allen hurt, Doyle becomes Luck’s second favorite option behind T.Y. Hilton. Last week he led all TEs with 9 catches on 10 targets. 5 of those targets came in the red zone. With Allen listed as week – to – week, Doyle is a must have guy in the lineup (DOYLE RULES).
Gary Barnidge, CLE vs NYJ

No one really knows who will be the Browns starting QB on Sunday. Hell, it might even be me. The best security blanket for any QB is their TE. Barnidge is a big body who has done very well in racking up yardage. Unfortunately for Barnidge owners he has yet to find the end zone. Look for that to change this week against the Jets.
Travis Kelce, KC vs IND
Kelce has struggled a little lately. His past two games he has only had 24 and 32 receiving yards respectively. However, he is still one of the most trusted pass catching TEs in the NFL and he faces a Colts team who has struggled to stop TEs all season. Look for Kelce to have a strong game.
SLEEPER: CJ Fiedorowitz, HOU vs DET
Since being shutout in week 3 by New England, Fiedorowitz has been a trusted check down option for Osweiler. In the four games since he has two TDs. Don’t get me wrong, Fiedorowitz is by no means a dominant pass catching TE yet but against Detroit, who allow the third most fantasy points to TEs, he could be a solid plug in for someone who needs a TE this week.
BUST: Jason Witten, DAL vs PHI

Witten has been a nice security blanket for young Dak all season. He will get a decent amount of catches, however the yardage is not anything spectacular. The most yards he has in a game this season is 66 and he has yet to reach the end zone. Don’t look for any good fortunes this week against Philly who gives up the third least fantasy points to opposing TEs.
DEFENSE / SPECIAL TEAMS
Detroit Lions vs HOU
Detroit may not have the most powerhouse defense in the league but this week they have a pretty good matchup against Houston. Last week, Osweiler and the offense struggled mightily to move the ball. Yes, they played Denver last week, but all season Houston’s offense has been subpar. We expect Detroit to put some pressure on Osweiler and force him to turn the ball over a few times.
New York Jets vs CLE

News flash: the Cleveland Browns are terrible! The Jets have not been the monster defense that they were expected to be in the preseason, but their defensive line is still very dangerous. Look for them to get some sacks on who ever is playing QB for Cleveland and to pick them off a few times. This should be a great game for the Jets D but crazier things have happened.
Arizona Cardinals vs CAR
Arizona’s defense has given up a total of 30 points combined in they previous 3 games. Carolina’s offense has thrown 10 interceptions so far on the season, which is tied for second most in the league. Patrick Peterson and the Honey Badger will try to be all over Cam and the Panther’s offense come Sunday.
SLEEPER: Cleveland Browns vs NYJ

No, we don’t think Cleveland has a good defense. Yes, this feels very strange to write something good about them. However, Fitzpatrick has throw the most interceptions in the league. Expect it to happen at least once on Sunday. If the Browns somehow win this game I will be taking a long bath with my toaster.
BUST: Philadelphia Eagles vs DAL
Philly has had one of the best fantasy defenses all season long. They have scored double digit fantasy points in every game but one. However, Dallas has been a very tough offense to defend. On top of that, Dak does not turn the ball over. Turnovers are the bread and butter for fantasy defenses. No turnover equal low points.
