#VladTalksWWE – I Love Stardust Because He’s an Honest-to-Goodness Insane Person

Nick Obleschuk is Vlad, a born-again wrestling fan at the age of twenty-five. Every once in a while, he’ll offer his unique outlook on what’s happening in the world of professional wrestling.

Every week on RAW, when Dean Ambrose enters the ring, the announcers always talk about how crazy he is. “Can you imagine,” they’ll say, “if a lunatic like Dean Ambrose became the WWE World Heavy Weight Champion?” Ambrose is eccentric, and his rebellious spirit makes him seem like he’s a little bit crazy, but in comparison to some of the other characters in the WWE, he’s cool, calculated, and exacting. Last week, Ambrose stormed the ring during The Authority’s “award ceremony” for Seth Rollins, the so-called Architect of a Dream, and threatened to use Rollins’ body to break two conveniently placed concrete blocks. That wasn’t some random act of violence. Ambrose did what he had to do to get another shot at the championship, and considering The Authority routinely pulls shit like they did yesterday, getting Ambrose arrested for phony assault and battery charges, that stunt was a seriously good idea. If Ambrose is a lunatic, I have no idea what that makes Stardust.

Weird cross promotion shit happens on RAW all the time. Just last night, when John Cena issued his weekly open challenge for his United States Championship Title, as he does, the cast of Entourage: The Movie showed up. Much to my disappointment, it did not become a Furious Five-Way? (Perilous Pentagon?) between John Cena, Kevin Connolly, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, and Jerry Ferrara (thanks IMDB!), they just brought Zack Ryder out to get beaten by Cena. The Entourage had plenty of fun behind the scenes, in hope that maybe there are fifteen people who watch professional wrestling and a show about douchebags in Hollywood. None of this compares to the wackiness that ensued when Stardust came to the ring to get beaten by Neville in ninety seconds.

As he comes to the ring, Stardust approaches a man in the crowd, and gets directly in his face. As it turns out, this man is Stephen Amell, the star of CW’s The Arrow. The announcer informs everyone that recently, Stardust was on Twitter, “trolling” Amell. As far as I can tell, is the tweet in question:

Incredible. Seems like some normal, run of the mill cross-promotion stuff. Wrestling, super heroes, I get it. It makes sense. But then, Stardust releases an official statement on the subject:

Holy shit, this is why I love Stardust. This isn’t just the cast of Entourage coming to the ring and saying “hey, uh, we’re in Long Island, so maybe you should wrestle someone from Long Island? I don’t know, whatever.” This is Stardust getting getting in Steve Amell’s grill because he ACTUALLY thinks he’s a super hero.

His statement genuinely raises more questions than it answers. Does Stardust believe that everything he sees on TV is real? Does he believe that Steve Amell decided to televise his pretend life as Oliver Queen just to throw people off the trail even though that would be him admitting that he’s “The Arrow?” Does he think Starling City is a real place? If Amell is a super hero, does a jabroni like Stardust actually think he could take him?

I think the answer to that last question is a genuine “yes.” Stardust is possibly the biggest jabroni that currently wrestles with any sort of frequency on RAW (R-Truth is a close second, I love that guy too) but he either doesn’t realize it or just doesn’t care. Either way, he’s amazing. He is always a blast to watch. What’s even better, it seems like this isn’t over, as Amell was on Twitter saying that he’s working on wrestling moves and looking for revenge. This gonna be good.
